The P232 is a rather different design compared to the rest of the P series
from SIG, but then again, it is not meant for the same role either. Where the
other guns are real combat guns, the P232 is more of a concealed carry or purse
gun, and it is very well suited to this too. The pistol is based upon the
Walther PPK, but has several improvements: the most notable one is that the
triggerguard is now a part of the frame, and that there is a seperate takedown
lever on the frame, as opposed to the PPK, in wich the triggerguard was also the
takedown lever. Another improvement is a decocking lever on the left side of the
frame. There is no other visible means of securing the gun, but the internal
safeties are quite up to the task. The P232 is made with a stainless steel
slide, and a aluminum frame. The gun is available in either the .38 ACP caliber
or in 9 mm Makarov with the 9 mm Makarov being a slightly better choise. With
its classy sleek looks, stainlesss steel finish and light recoil, it is a ideal
ladies gun.
The magazine holds eight rounds in either caliber.
